Anne Arundel County MDNov 25 2012 A 14-year-old boy who had just left a store at the ArundelMills Mall early Friday was punched and robbed of his purchases, according toAnne Arundel County police.
The teen was attacked a little more than two hours after theshopping center in Hanover,off the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, opened at midnight to promote Christmassales on what has become one of the busiest holiday shopping days.
Police said the youth had walked out of the Bed Bath & Beyond storeabout 2:10 a.m. when five males came up behind him on the sidewalk. One manpunched the youth, and another “stole a bag containing property the victim hadjust purchased, police said.
Police said the assailants — described as between 17 and 21years old wearing black North Face jackets and blue jeans — then ran away inthe direction of the Bass Pro store.
Authorities said the victim’s parents were contacted andthat the youth declined medical treatment for a minor injury. Police did notdisclose what items were taken.
